Governor of Delta State Dr. Uduaghan  visited Obi Prof. Chike Edozien,The Asagba of Asaba on January 7th, 2013

"Dr.Emmanuel Uduaghan, Governor Delta State along with his team paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien to felicitate with him on his return from treatment abroad and to also wish him a Happy New Year. While at the palace, the governor briefed the Asagba of all he missed out while he was away. He said his administration would take advantage of the dry season to speed up reconstruction of roads and drainages throughout the state. He stated that 10 additional roads have been mapped out for construction in Asaba.The governor informed the Asagba that the seat of government has been moved from the old to a new government house in Asaba.

He also narrated the painful ordeal the people went through during the flood and assured Deltans that measures are being put in place to prevent such a disaster from occurring in the nearest future.

The governor while speaking promised Deltans that his desire is to transform Delta State into an economic hub, starting with improved accessible roads which would facilitate the economic development and standard of living of the people of the state. He gave the reassurance that within the next few months Asaba will be adorned with a new and befitting look as the best state capital in Nigeria. The Asagba of Asaba, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien in his speech congratulated his Excellency, the Governor of Delta state on the national honors’ award and commended him on the construction of a new government house. He also said he was impressed with the reconstruction of roads in the state capital and across the state but urged that he expedite action on all on-going projects so as to achieve his goal of crowning the state the best in the country." - Delta Oshobe
