United States of American presidential candidate Senator Tim Scott, in his closing remark at the Republican presidential debate made it clear that he was not running for president just to defeat President Joe Biden but also to usher in a moral, God fearing and peaceful society if he wins the US presidency. Senator Scott is an African American in the GOP and if he secured the GOP presidential nomination and wins, he will become the second Black American president in the history book of America, since former President Obama was the first Black elected president in America.
In his closing remarks of third GOP debate he said, “I do not just want to win the battle against Joe Biden. I want us together to win the war, the war for Christian conservative values that changed my life.” He continued, “We should turn back to faith, patriotism and individual responsibility,” he said in a closing statement. “We should stop choosing victimhood and start choosing victory. We should stop kneeling in protest and start kneeling in prayer.” “There are basic truths that built this country. If you’re able-bodied in America, you work. If you take out a loan, you pay it back. If you commit a violent crime, you go to jail. And if God made you a man, you play sports against men.”
His stand on morality may appeal to Christian evangelicals, an important and active segment of Republican party base. But it is an uphill battle for him because most Republican party members are already supporting the former President Trump for the next year election against the incumbent President Joe Biden.
