
Ethiopian Airline and Arthur Eze made history at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu Nigeria
The Ethiopian Airline made history as it became the first commercial airline to land safely at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, at exactly 12:15 p.m on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The Ethiopian Airline, a major African airline took off from Addis Ababa and made the historic flight.
Guardian News reported, “Although work at the international wing, whose inauguration was made a few months ago by President Goodluck Jonathan was yet to start, the take-off of international flights is said to be part of efforts to actualize the international status.”
Arthur Eze, business magnet and industrialist departed from Senegal with his private jet with a registration number 5MPZE and landed at Enugu International Airport last Tuesday, making him the first international flight to land at the airport.

When Akanu Ibiam International Airport becomes functional with routine flights, it will help to de-congest Lagos and Abuja airports. Additional, it will stimulate trade, commercial ventures and tourism in eastern Nigeria.
