Hollywood Star Tweets in Igbo Language for New Year

January 5, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

Kerry Washington with her Nigerian NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha

United States born and Hollywood movie star,  Kerry Washington tweeted 2014 New year message in Igbo language.  Kerry Wahington, the  Hollywood  sensational actress is  married to Nnamdi Asomugha, a Nigerian American of Igbo extraction who  played In American football League.

On the New year’s day, Kerry posted on her Facebook  “Afo gbara aka laa oo”, which means “May the year end without taking anything from us”.

In this era and at this point in Nigeria, where many parents cannot allow their children to speak and understand native Nigerian languages, it is refreshing to see an outsider married to a Nigerian that still believes in Nigerian and African culture.
