Sex and prostrate – Balancing Religion and Health

February 3, 2023 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

Written by Pius Okaneme – A seasoned writer, Poet and Analyst.

I have always heard from some medical professionals, especially those in America, that sex is good to overcome the development of prostrate problems.  Those with Christian religious persuasion have always shied away from that notion.  However, the reality of majority of men in the age bracket that is susceptible to prostrate disease is that they experience low libido.

There is a profusion of sex enhancing drugs in the market.  Most men that have weak or no erection during sexual intercourse find a new lease in pleasure by patronizing these drugs and other local remedies.

Many medical doctors of late advise against high dosage of sex. This appears as a reversal from the old recommendation of sex to protect men against prostrate illness.  Their belief is that the weakness of the heart of men in the age bracket that is prone to prostrate problems makes it unlikely for them to sustain the fast blood pressure induced by sex enhancing drugs during intercourse.

The joy of sex for older men with high libido seems to outweigh the consequences of the adverse effect of the enhancement drugs such as heart attack.  Some of them choose to leave their health to fate and modern science.  On the other hand, those with low libido that engage in sex for leisure or that abstains could consequently dispose themselves to the effect of prostrate disease.

There seems to be a catch – 22. You are doomed if you do and you are doomed if you don’t.  Sex is the highest form of pleasure for most people and to do without it could make life meaningless.  Only that to be sick from prostrate disease or heart attack could make life unbearable.  Should men choose their poison or trust on medical science for support during their old age?
