Tinubu and Atiku – ‘The Thrill is gone’

June 18, 2022 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

Tinubu and Atiku

The thrill is gone

The thrill is gone away for good

The thrill is gone baby

The thrill is gone away for good

You know you done me wrong baby

You’ll be sorry someday                 –   B B King  (Musical lyricist and Blues singer)

For a while Nigerians were running around, raising dust  and discussing on the fort coming 2023 elections. They were feverishly eager waiting for the so-called major party primaries, the ruling  All Progressive Congress (APC) and its major opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to nominate its respective presidential candidates and flag bearers for 2023 elections.

But here we are, the primary elections of both parties have come and gone. The country was anticipating some excitements and something new to come out of primaries. But it was same old stories.

Bola Tinubu of APC and Abubakar Atiku  emerged as the  candidates for the respective parties. These two  presidential candidates need no introduction.  With their past antecedents  and records most Nigerians if they can be frank to themselves are already familiar with their energies, ambitions  and perspectives. One thing they have in common is their life ambitions to become Nigerian president.

There is no euphoria, no excitement or thrill at the mention of  PDP and APC nominees.

PDP have been in power for 16 years and APC for almost 8 years. What have they done for Nigeria, basically nothing. The economy is in shambles. Insecurity is the order of the day. Poverty and hopelessness are the twin devils demolishing Nigeria. While every year Nigeria is getting closer to disintegration and major meltdown under their watch. Now you want Nigerians to believe that the country will get better in future under their watch again. This is hoping against hope. For Nigeria must be saved.  Nigeria is worth saving ! If not for you, do it for your children and Children’s children.

It’s Nigeria turn………

In the course of political campaign  for 2023. You have heard many politicians  and cultural groups proclaiming that it is there time  to rule or ruin Nigeria, This time is  Nigeria turn. The turn to transform Nigeria from tribal country to a cohesive nation.  Nigerians have tried  tribe and religion as bellwether in the election of their leaders. Now is the time to throw away emotional  sentiments and elect a president that will work for the country. It’s a new day, let’s rescue Nigeria.
